Frazzled mom is more like it! Ever have those mornings when it feels like you have 101 things to do all before 8 AM? I’ve been called Super Mom on a few occasions since having my second little one. While I appreciate that compliment, I more often feel frazzled and disorganized than super.
During the week, I start each day with a 5 AM work out. Believe me, easier said than done! But, the kids and hubby are asleep and the house is quiet. It’s a short period of time I have to exercise and gear up for the day. Following a quick cup of coffee, the kids wake up and the chaos begins!
With my 85 things left to do before 7:30 AM, I am usually running around the house trying to get my little ones dressed, breakfast made and lunches ready. That’s just naming a few things! By the time I get daycare drop off complete, my frazzled feeling is in overdrive and the work day hasn’t even begun. With my commute underway and that third cup of coffee kicking in, I wonder if I am going to make it through the day. After all, it feels like I just had a full day in those first few hours of the morning. Sound familiar?
So, what does this frazzled mom do? Believe it or not I sing! And, I sing very badly at that! Commuting is a drag so I pop in a good CD and sing at the top of my lungs you can’t feel frazzled when you are cruising along and singing.
Super mom I am not. Frazzled frequently? That is a resounding, “Yes!” I realized a long time ago that frazzled is ok but it’s even better to just roll with it when you need to. Add into the mix a lot of bad singing and you have the perfect recipe to get back to your center. If anything, you can laugh at how badly you sing. I know I do!
P.S. If your little ones happen to be in the car with you, Choo-Choo Soul is a good one for the family. It’s got some beats.
Isn’t it funny, the little moments of quiet mean so much now!? Glad you are following. 🙂
