One Goal This Week

Here’s a challenge. Set one goal for yourself this week.  What will you do to accomplish it?

I have home goals, family goals and work goals not to mention my website goals. I’ve been blogging for almost a year now. June 10 will mark my 1st blog anniversary.  A lot of opportunities have come across my trusty computer screen over the last year.

It’s been somewhat of a whirlwind but at the same time, I have really enjoyed connecting with mom’s across the world. The one thing I have come to realize is that I love hearing from other moms whether it’s a comment on my blog, at the Facebook page or anywhere else you can find me.

My goal this week is to take time each day to read and comment on other mom blogs each and every day. I also want to take the time to learn more about other moms and their experiences with motherhood, work, life, etc.

If you saw my handy checklist each day this week, you would note an entry “Read 5-10 blogs today and comment” along with a square next to that entry.

When I complete the action item each day, I write an X in the box. Believe it or not, that is how I manage some of my workload at the office (shhh… my secret task decoder is out now!). Make the list and put an empty square next to each action item. It’s easy for my feeble eyes to see an open action item that way, especially coming out of a meeting.

Another believe it or not, I learned this technique from a VP I worked with about 7 years ago. Each time she wrote an action item in her notes, she added the box next to it. I can only assume that at some point she checked off the item when the task was completed.

I’m sure there’s a gadget out there that can do this for me electronically, however I tend to keep a notebook and pen with me during meetings. But I digress.

While I am noting this as my goal for the week, I have been incorporating it into my daily routine the last few weeks. Maybe 10 is too little or too much but for now it’s manageable. With all the goal lists we have as working moms, we have be diligent when it comes to our time and where we spend it. I know I do. 5 per day it is. Off to read another mom blog and comment.

What goal would you like to accomplish this week?

    1. Too funny! That just happened to me, too… some notes got lost and I finally found them with my little guy’s scribbles. 🙂

    1. It’s…Lifestyle WordPress Theme 3.0 by StudioPress and then I updated the theme. If you scroll to the bottom of my site, you will see all the attributions. Revka at Berries and Cream Blog Design helped me with the move from Blogger to WordPress. Awesome job and a joy to work with! 🙂

  2. Sometimes, I write something down after I’ve done it, just so I can check it off! It makes me feel good to see a long list with check marks next to each item:)

    Good luck!

  3. So happy you found it helpful 🙂 Checklists help to stay organized but I try not to make too many of them.
